Continuing the trend for deconstructed aesthetics, these Nike Drop Type LX Shoes are a part of the N354 family and boast an unusual, creative look that pays homage to American runner Steve Prefontain’s fastest mile. The accentuated exposed foam tongue makes a statement as it bursts out of the smooth nylon tongue whilst below the flat cotton laces have been dyed to match the sail colour of the uppers. Bicycle yellow coloured suede overlays have been added on the outer edge of the toes with a debossed Swoosh tick and around the back of the heel whilst subtle ‘n 354’ lettering has been printed below the black laces border to signify Prefontaine’s personal 3:54.6 personal record.

Ventilation holes have been inserted on the outer edge for ventilation and above the white rubber midsole, which is significantly layered for a bold look, with a toe cap and wrap around finish on the heel below black leather tabs decorated with yellow outlined Swoosh ticks. For a streamlined look autoclave construction has been used to fuse the outsole to the midsole whilst a stylised herringbone tread pattern completes the design for reliable grip.

Rethinking convention from the inside out, the Drop Type LX is a new silhouette with a deconstructed look that celebrates the life and achievements of Steve Prefontaine. Inspired by classic tennis shoes within the NikeCourt family, the 354 collection looks to the past to create a futuristic, forward thinking look that captures the innovative nature of Nike.
